Vision
In my daily work as a producer of jersey clothing I prefer to work with organic cotton of highest quality. I have found this quality at Cotonea, a fabric producer in southern Germany, who provides sustainability and transparency on highest level from field to customer. This material gives best shape stability by the use of S/Z-yarns (no turning of side seams) and comes without elasthane/lycra to guarantee longevity. In my opinion longevity is the key for sustainable future fashion.
In this collection I am using only scraps from the cutting room. At the moment it is not possible for a small business like mine to transfer these scraps into recycled fibres. There is no infrastructure and logistics yet in my region to do fibre-recycling. So I try to use as much as possible of these fabrics scraps directly to make clothes.
The collection was inspired by the art of Piet Mondrian but also goes further and combines colours in many ways. As they are made of scraps, the garments are always like patchwork and the quantity is limited by the amount of scraps available. I will not use „new“ fabric from the roll for this collection (but the fabric is new, that means it was not used in a garment before).
